Negotiating Difference: Increasing Mediator Awareness and Cultural Competence Involving Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression

Date and Time: April 25, 2008, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Location: The Coover Room, Senior Services, Inc., 918 Jasper Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49001

Content: Issues specific to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered, and Questioning (LGBTQ) cases and general mediation with LGBTQ clients. Cultural sensitivity, families, youth and seniors, legal issues and mediator skill building.

Presenters: An interdisciplinary team of mediation, legal, psychological, service agency professionals and representatives of local LBGTQ programs.

Registration: A registration fee of $150 per person (includes lunch, snacks and materials) should be made payable to Gryphon Place, and sent to:  Dispute Resolution Services of Gryphon Place, 1104 S.
